Privacy Policy

The short version
Echo stores the links you save and syncs them to your private account so they follow you across devices. Your saves are visible only to you. Here is exactly what we collect, where it lives, and how to remove it.
What Echo saves
For each link you save: the URL, an automatically fetched title and preview image, an optional note you add, a topic category, and lightweight engagement signals (when you last opened it and how many times) that let Echo know when to bring it back. That’s the data — Echo saves links, not the contents of your device.
Where your data is stored
Your saves are kept locally on your device and in your private account on our cloud backend (hosted on Supabase) so they stay in sync across devices. Access is scoped to your account — other users cannot see your saves.
Automatic sorting
To sort each save by topic and rough effort (quick read vs. deep dive), Echo sends the link’s title and URL to an automated classification service (OpenAI). It’s used only to categorize that item and is not used to train their models. Your notes are never sent.
Link previews
When you save a link, Echo fetches the page’s title and preview image from the source website so it can show a card. That request goes to the site you saved, the same as opening the link in a browser.
Account & sign-in
You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive a unique account identifier — and your email address if you choose to share it — to create and secure your account. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t build advertising profiles from your saves. We collect only what the app needs to work.
Your controls
Delete any saved item at any time — it’s removed from your device and from our servers. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email us and we’ll take care of it.
